Artist's Profile

As a young child, Nancy Prescott appeared to be a budding artist. She took lessons in charcoals and drew quite well. Her interest changed as she grew up, and she pursued a career as a high school English teacher.

Many years later, Nancy became executive director of a small museum of art in Sylacauga, AL. In that role she arranged changing art exhibits and scheduled art classes, among her other responsibilities. The early interest in becoming an artist returned during that time, and she enrolled in an art class taught at the museum by Mary White, an art instructor at Samford University in Birmingham.  She has been painting steadily ever since that time.

Acrylics are Nancy's medium of choice.  Her subjects have varied as she has searched for her specialty.  She enjoys painting landscapes, finding her subjects in her vacation trips abroad and in this country.  Perhaps her most popular subjects are animals - cats, dogs, birds, fish, wildlife, and farm animals.  She has delighted her friends with portraits of their pets.

Today, Nancy's painting are hanging in private collections from California to Georgia, and from Scotland to Japan.
